I suppose its only natural that I give why we are making this voyage, that I have made many times before. Some of us leave Scotland so that we may pursue our own Religions. Some of us leave Scotland because we will be payed in land and resources. Some of us are leaving our home, the only one we have ever known to seek out our fortune and adventure. My crew and I... when we left port for the first time twenty years ago. It was for revenge. To destroy the Spanish, We had beaten their Armada yet they still fought us. They were a crumbling empire. Yet they did not know defeat. A crew of their buccaneers killed my father while he was out at sea, and I would make sure they knew the pain of the Britannia. These men that come with me now on the Royal Katherine, aren't just my loyal crew. They are farmers and field hands. Nobles and Merchants. Some know the hard labor that the field can bring. Some have never soiled their hands with the dirt. I will bring forth the colony of Britannia so that my children will have a place to call home. That is my goal now. That is why I left port yesterday. It also helps being payed a large sum of money from the royal stipend.
Captain Nathaniel Britannia.
