Letter to the King

To the King of Scotland and the lands beyond, James Wallace III,

Our grandfathers fought together to reclaim the glorious empire of Scotland from the weak willed English, they could not allow for the English defilers to sit on the throne so they fought together and destroyed the colonies of England, and then retook the throne of your great-grandfather. My grandfather was King Wallace I blade of the sea. His sole purpose was to strike fear into the hearts of our countries enemies, and he led many great raids to foster the seeds for which the colonies now take fruit from. I humbly ask you as a blood-kinsman, to repeal the acts that parliament has enacted. We need our autonomy back. Parliament has set up many “helpful” Naval juries, as well as the House of Commons, a Scottish court that controls colonial trade. We know what is best for the colony; we live on this great lands soil. They do not, we know when to plant, how much resources we need, and what we need. The House of Commons can’t do that for us. There have already been uprisings among the farmers in the north due to the “helpfulness” of self-imposed Scottish Governors, that parliament has given us. The farmers feel that they are trying to be enslaved, that these inadequate, unfamiliar Governors, who only were able to get in because they had money, and wanted to control the colony, have already broken the peace that we had obtained from defeating the French. We also require the lands that the rebel Native, Pontiac has taken control of. Not understanding our agreement with the local tribes that controlled other warring tribes, like that of Pontiac’s, parliament allowed Pontiac to take control in a rebellion that would have been quelled within the year by our alliance with friendly Natives. Parliament will not allow us to help these kind Natives who worked with our grandfathers to destroy the British. If we do not help them soon, they shall be destroyed. I know many colonists will not let that happen. The Whiskey act, Grain act, and many other tariffs, have destroyed the economy of the colonies; we know our duty is to the Crown as well as to that of Scotland; however our army led by my father and many others defeated France on our lands as they made war to the colonies as well as to the Crown. However we need time to recover, we do not have the resources at this time to give to the motherland as much as we used to give us time regrow and expand. The Crown could see triple or quadruple the normal profit if you just hold for a little while. Increase taxes to the other Royal Colonies, we need time to recover they have yet to fight. We are being taxed and our voices are not being heard. We will no longer stand idly by while parliament raises taxes, tariffs, and acts that do nothing but hurt the Britannia colonies.

Sincerely,
Thomas Britannia, Statesmen and Blood-Cousin to the King.
